From school sweethearts to exchanging vows at the enchanting Château de Sannes in Provence, A&C have managed to preserve the freshness of their youthful love. They wanted to give their loved ones a quintessential French experience, gathering everyone together in one idyllic place. Their wedding was more than just a ceremony; it was a four-day escape in the heart of Provence, filled with strolls through charming villages and immersive sensory experiences shared with those closest to them.
Accompanying them over these four days in a place I adore, I witnessed firsthand the magic of Château de Sannes. This venue, with its warm and welcoming staff, offers an exceptional setting that still feels like home. I was enveloped by the love and kindness surrounding A&C, their easy laughter and deep connection creating an atmosphere of pure joy throughout my entire stay by their side.
MY VISION FOR A&C’S WEDDING
Annika expressed her desire for classic and timeless photographs, and from the moment I met A&C, their connection inspired me with its romantic and fresh spirit. Their wedding planner and designer, Dentelles Event, shared an elegant and timeless mood board that beautifully complemented the Château de Sanne's grandeur. These elements reminded me of the iconic wedding photos of Grace Kelly in the 1950s, and I aimed to capture that same timeless elegance and romance for A&C's wedding reportage. The result was a collection of images that embody the grace, charm, and enduring love that define their story.
Pre Wedding
The sun made a late appearance this year, but it granted us the perfect backdrop of lavender fields in full bloom. At Château de Sannes, a small wrought-iron table was set amidst the lavender, creating an idyllic scene for getting to know A&C over a warm evening aperitif. The air was fragrant with lavender, and under the gentle glow of the setting sun, A&C's joyful connection naturally blossomed in front of my camera.
Rehearsal Dinner
Their love story began in school, and what touched me most about them is how they’ve preserved that youthful playfulness and deep bond. One of the beautiful things I often notice when photographing school sweethearts is the closeness of the people around them. Their friends and family have known each other for years, making the rehearsal dinners feel more like heartfelt family reunions.
Wedding
This June, the weather was unpredictable, yet Annika remained happy, with her only concern being to marry her Christian. A&C sought my advice on selecting certain vendors, and that collaboration helped us achieve what seemed impossible. Their wedding was a true reflection of who they are, unfolding seamlessly in an atmosphere of trust. Despite the persistent breeze that seemed intent on joining our celebration, I captured their day in the authentic and timeless way I envisioned.
Brunch
Time always feels suspended during brunches, as if we're wrapped in the warmth of a holiday, surrounded by our loved ones—friends and family. It was the perfect moment to celebrate Lara’s first birthday. In a private villa, transformed into a giant chic picnic.
